Jim Gaffigan Roasts Trump Over Al Smith Dinner Access Hollywood Tape
On October 17, 2024, comedian Jim Gaffigan made news at the Al Smith Dinner by attacking former President Donald Trump over his notorious Access Hollywood video with his razor-sharp wit and unafraid comedy. The Waldorf Astoria hosts the annual event, which traditionally includes a roast of political personalities and raises money for Catholic charity.
The fact that Melania Trump and Donald Trump were present made Gaffigan’s performance especially noteworthy. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was conspicuously absent from the event due to her campaigning in Wisconsin, was also made fun of by the comic. Kamala probably had more important things to do than come to our party tonight. Gaffigan said, “Perhaps she’s out there trying to figure out how to win this election.”
